Hi @xamulap, the tasks are going to be changed. I created the tasks as a proof of concept so you may have a way to start applying configuration to different endpoints, but based in the feedback you all have provided me, in release 0.12.0 (I'm trying to finish 0.11.0 this week) we'll see changes to the way tasks are managed. I agree with you that I'd like to perform some tasks directly on an endpoint without the need of using a profile to be applied. I need to find a way to manage tasks so they can be part of a profile or live happily on their own. That would be the first step to have the gallery of task templates that I want to have in OpenUEM. Also about the report of tasks, there is this issue #359 to improve the way we check if a profile had errors, but also it'd be great to have more information if tasks were successful. Thanks for this (and previous) feedback. I hope that OpenUEM will see improved tasks in 2026! |

Hi @xamulap, I've released 0.12.0 version which allows you to run a task directly from the new Tasks tab in the computer's view. You should create a task first in a bogus profile (don't need to enable the profile) and then you should find the task in the drop-down menu of the Tasks tab. I hope this feature improves things a little bit. I'll keep the discussion opened until we're sure that we are in the right direction

Tested, looks good. Worth to mention that until I upgrade client from 0.9 to 0.11 tab Tasks didn't show up. Thank a lot! |

Thank you for the feedback!, yes the tab Task is hidden for agent < 0.11.0 as you cannot request task execution I'm closing the discussion then |

Hi,
I am wondering if it wouldn't be useful to be able to issue "Task" directly on some item on inventory. I know I can do it with Tags but in case I do some action only randomly, on some devices its not straight forward (or maybe there is such option and I just didn't find it).
As I understand you use for those tasks ansible, which is cool, but is it possible to see report for those tasks ?
Thanks
