In 2022, the American Library Association’s Office of Intellectual Freedom received 1,269 book challenges covering 2,571 unique titles. We expanded our graphic novel collection using this fund, with a particular eye toward collecting stories that have been challenged or banned at other institutions.

In 2018, we were able to purchase two copies of a very expensive book, Raven Biology of Plants, to put on course reserves for a 300-level botany class. This fund has also allowed us to purchase other books in the areas of engineering and botany over the years.
