Still Not working for the RX 9070 XT

Custom Node Testing

• I have tried disabling custom nodes and the issue persists (see how to disable custom nodes if you need help)

Expected Behavior

running a simple text to image workflow to generate, edit or create images and videos. been attempting this for nearly 3 months now, from windows 10 to windows 11 now.

Actual Behavior

System clogs up, and disconnects, it's completely crashes. see error logs.

Steps to Reproduce

Select pretty much any text to image template you can find, it'll give you this error no matter what build you have with this graphics card.

I've attempted older versions of comfy, older ROCm sets, Custom libraries, removing all nodes, attempting to completely build ComfyUI myself, nothing works. I'm not throwing shade at anyone for this, not assuming this is any one persons fault, I'm just saying it's an absolute joke that this has been an ongoing issue for nearly 3 years now and still nothing has seemingly been done.

Far as im aware, I've completed wiped my computer of anything related to ComfyUI mate. And I understand its vague, but from that log up, nothing else was going wrong, as all. No errors, warnings, instability, nothing. Soon as I pressed run. It spat that all out and immediately crashed. As far as I know, ROCm is still very unstable with the RX 9070 XT, even with something as simple as generating a 600x600 image with flux1. I had only a positive text prompt, no negative. So it's not like it had a lot to do.

The issue wasn't loading the model, not that I thought it would even produce a good image in the first place, I knew it would obviously struggle. It's the ROCm being so unstable. I haven't even mentioned that I've a R7 9800X3D and 64GB DDR5-6000. Regardless if that would've helped, seeing as it still crashed so fast.

I don't know about Flux but I was able to generate 2k images upscaled to 4k with Anima while playing Honkai Star Rail at 4k max settings that was using 75% of my GPU and later was able to generate images at 1k upscaled to 2k for over 5hrs in the background without a single crash...
Obviously it's a much lighter model but you said you had issues with SD1.5 which is even lighter so...

You can't just blame ROCm when it could just be your setup.
For starters all I can see wrong from your first image is it's seeing 24055.92 MB usable, which shouldn't be right unless I'm mistaken it should only be looking for VRAM which should be 16GB?

Yet, I recall when loading it up, I seen in the logs it detected my gpu correctly, and still was looking for the incorrect amount of Vram, so it's still the software. My whole rig is brand new this year and I haven't had any issues in terms of hardware or software apart from ROCm HIPSDK and ComfyUI. I haven't a damn clue man. But It's a known fact that ROCm is unstable with the 9000 series right now, I have dealt with that first hand for 2 solid months

I don't honestly know what to tell you. I've been running comfyUI on my 9060XT for a few months now, including this fork, and the only issues I've had were related to NaN errors, which I eventually determined were a problem with the VRAM on my card. Once that was resolved (by RMA'ing the card) it has worked with no issues. Have you run a vram test using OCCT or something similar to rule out any hardware faults? Have you tried running with the rocm-ninodes node pack? Have you modified the .bat startup file at all?

There's a lot of memory optimizations which can make comfyUI run better on AMD cards. patientX mentioned some of them in the instructions:
"You can use comfyui-user.bat, or put a shortcut to it on your desktop, to run the app later. My recommendation is to make a copy of comfyui-user.bat with another name and modify that copy, so that when updating you won't run into trouble. (don't make changes in the comfyui-rocm.bat ; instead use and edit comfyui-user.bat)
At the moment, there are some startup options I am using with my RX 6800 in the batch file. You can edit them; I'll try to add more options in there."
Right click the bat file, and you should see options like --disable-pinned-memory --disable-smart-memory --disable-dynamic-vram
ComfyUI is VERY much nVidia focused, so AMD users benefit from turning off some of these "optimizations"

Also @gdavidson75 I ran a bunch of tests on my GPU and the Vram, everything is good and running well, no issue's what so ever. I even did what I could to check my CPU and RAM, no issue's I could see. So it's down to ROCm Instability/Teething Issue's, from my point of view anyways. I spoke to the guy who built my RIG, he's been doing it for well over 20 years now, even he says with the rx9070xt, ROCm is still way too new.

It's for sure the majority ROCm, I've seen many many cases people with similar rigs to mine, gpu and cpu, same errors, maybe slightly different, but majority having found it to be coming from ROCm instability. Switching to DirectML or another Backend that completely takes rocm out of the equation and they have no issue's.

Older GPU's have far more support, being worked on for longer and basically are known in and out, newer stuff is just as stated earlier, shakey. Not like the 9070 xt is Brand new, but still new enough I guess.
