Hi,

does anyone know whether Exportify will still be functional after the March 9th Spotify API update? as I am planning on using the Spotify API audio features as analysis for my thesis and exportify is the perfect tool for obtaining this data

Oh fuck that is a really extensive set of API changes. It will definitely impact this app. I'm not even sure I'll be able to recapitulate the same info with alternative API calls, at least not in a reasonable runtime, since they're removing GET requests for multiple artists and albums at a time.

If you want to comb through for me and figure out some alternatives, I'd be grateful. I'm currently traveling from Victoria to Seattle and don't have too much attention to give it. https://developer.spotify.com/documentation/web-api/references/changes/february-2026

It looks like maybe they're making enough adds that we can cobble it together. It's possible that this simplifies the series of API calls I make in the end if there's just one endpoint for all playlist info, but it's also possible some fields are just no longer available. In any case the changes and field renames are breaking to anyone using their old API. Bold of them.

I probably wont be able to come up with any alternatives as I have very minimal experience with coding and was just looking for a way to extract audio features of songs for my cognitive neuroscience thesis
I hope you can find an alternative
It is a real shame that spotify are limiting the creativity of developers and researchers :(
