In short, some encoders, such as the one included in ProTools, can generate audio files with non-standard silent audio frames. Symphonia fails to decode these frames properly / as expected, cropping out the silent frames entirely. Re-encoding the files with FFmpeg makes them play back normally with Symphonia, but this is not ideal.
