Collection Sync Error: unexpected server return level 429

Hello!!
Since yesterday I've been getting these errors and I can't see my collections anymore. Did something change? Everything's up to date here and I didn’t change anything. It was working just fine :)

Here’s the error I get:
"ERROR: Collection AndreSalviato failed to load: Error listing the collection:
Collection Sync Error: unexpected server return level 429"

Hey!
The error 429 seem to be github's rate-limiting.
it's strange to see, because it should be relatively hard to hit rate limitation on github with just hcollection use.
But it is true that (i think) i'm not handling rate limitation errors properly.

why you see the errors only now? either github lowered the allowed request rate, or you are using something else that generates requests on your github account, or there may be a bug or temporary limitation on github's side.

generally, if you hit such error - i think you need to wait for a minute for github to reset your usage

Got it! I thought it was weird too. I've always used it and this never happened.
It started yesterday afternoon and still hasn't come back.
Do you think I need to do something? Maybe contact them?

Work's been tough today without HPaste hahaha

I do not seem to be getting this error on my side,

my guess is that something is wrong on github side, as rate limit should not happen all the time for sure.

i've checked global discussions and it seems that a bunch of people experienced same error recently, but I cannot judge if this is unusual spike of errors, or it's just another normal day)

the only thing i could do on hpaste side is to treat rate limit errors properly, that's true. but that won't help if you get them all the time.

I'll add that to todo list, but won't be able to get to it until end of next week. (and again, that probably won't solve your issue)

It does look like a GitHub-side issue, so no worries. Totally understand the timing, and I appreciate you adding it to your to-do list.

I’ll keep an eye on it from my side and let you know if anything changes.

Yesterday I removed my account from Hapste, and today I tried adding it back, but right away I get an error that didn’t happen before. Think it could be related to the other issue?:

I unchecked the "❌ Strip metadata from the code" option and it started working again for a bit, but then it stopped again.

Yesterday I had tried everything and nothing worked.

that is all very strange. "strip metadata" checkbox does not affect collection access at all, so that must have been just a coincidence,
and the qt errors are also very strange and seem to be unrelated to the issue

what houdini version are you working in?

I think it was just a coincidence. It worked once and then stopped working.

I'm using Houdini 20.5.522 with Py3.11 and I also tested it on 20.5.584 with Py3.10. Same thing happens on both.

What's weird is that I only use GitHub for Hpaste, nothing else.
I could make another account, but is there any way to move all the collections to the new one?
