Using pixi build with hatch-vcs

My project is setup to use hatch-vcs:

[tool.hatch.version]
source = "vcs"
raw-options = { root = "../.." }

This gets the version from the git tags.

I want to use pixi build to build my package using hatch-vcs but I am struggling to get it to work. Currently, you have to explicitly define the version in the pixi.toml.

Any help with this is much appreciated!

This doesn't seem to be possible yet, but there' an issue for it here: #2946

Yeah, we haven't figured this out, as that means we need to run Python in the loop. Possible, while it's also very slow. So we need to get back to the drawing board.
