Error: ROMS-FABM-PISCES

Hi,

I request you to please look into an issue I posted in FABM Forum:

As per jornbr's reply for that, I was able to resolve the issue regarding 'surface_air_pressure' and 'bottom_depth' by adding in roms_fabm.F file with "FORCES(ng)%Pair(Istr:Iend,Jstr:Jend))" and "GRID(ng)%h(Istr:Iend,Jstr:Jend)" respectively.

But I am in confusion with regards to 'vertical_tracer_diffusivity', as I am not sure of which ROMS variable to use for this.

I also would like to get a clarification w.r.t. providing information about the model time to FABM.

Hi Suhail,

Glad to hear you could add the required variables in roms_fabm.F. The list will never be exhaustive for all BGC models so users may need to add code, but I will make a note to add (Pair, h) to the repo code.

For 'vertical tracer diffusivity' I would probably connect with ROMS variable 'AKs' (vertical salinity diffusion) at MIXING%Akt(:,:,:,2). Although passive tracer diffusivity can in theory differ from salinity diffusivity, in the ROMS code (step3d_t.F) the salinity diffusivity is actually used for all passive tracers (see https://www.myroms.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5805).

For model time, there is already 'ydayc' = real-valued (decimal) number of days since Jan 1st of current year. If PISCES needs more than that you may have to add code to pass another variables from ROMS ...
