Status of SAML SSO w Google

Good day, team! I'm unfamiliar with this tool in general, just helping out with putting as many of an org's tools as possible behind SAML SSO. Would Coop yet support SAML SSO from Google Workspace by any chance, or is it in the works? I saw a search result about a general SAML SSO discussion back in March, and only see official mention of Okta SSO in documentation. Thank you in advance for any insight.

I had the same question so I asked in discord, what I was told is that SAML and OIDC are planned to be long-term supported, which I think should work well with Google Workspaces. (Though I don't have hands on experience configuring Coop + Google Workspaces or Google Workspaces SAML)

SAML currently exists and should work, OIDC is a more recent addition (or is still being finished)

My understanding is that yes, Coop fully supports SAML SSO, and we plan to support SAML and OIDC (#335) long-term. The docs have been undergoing a large rework since the v0 open source release of Coop, and this gap looks like it might be a hold-over from Coop's origin as a closed-source SaaS startup.

I've opened issue #587 to track this as well. Thanks for bringing it to our attention @acu-blip!

For further clarification we do have an adopter that is using Google Workspace SSO with SAML.
