Hi I made a fork of Signal and gave it a MCP server and REST API so it could talk to some LLMs.

The new models (Sonnet 4.5, Opus 4.5, Gemini 3, GPT 5.1) all seem to be great composers !!

fascinating! Although I don't have a plan to integrate AI into signal, I noticed that it is great if we have some API to control signal without having a local server. It might be plugin like Figma or something. Do you have any idea?

I havent seen Figma plugins, but have used Figma REST api and Figma MCPs.

My approach is basically fastAPI/mcp server that opens websockets to the signal frontend. So had to alter frontend code to handle websocket communication.

Electron can do websockets, correct?

I used essentially same approach (fork and add websocket handling) to the strudel.cc Claude Setup For New Strudel Mcp Server to do an LLM version of that strudel code editor, which also can play the code in a webpage....

But yes ability to control signal with some API seems like a great idea !!
