Problem you are having

I know there is https://github.com/ckulka/baikal-docker which however seems unmaintaned now (there is no latest version of baikal). Therefore I think it is worth to start a discussion whether baikal should get a offical docker image like most similar projects.

Suggested solution

A official docker image that publishes the latest software version and is maintained.

Sorry if I missed some dedicated issue from the past, however I couldn't find any about discussing a official solution.

@ByteHamster I am a great fan of the docker image https://github.com/ckulka/baikal-docker but it appears the project has gone dormant in the last year or so. Could it be possible to create a fork of this project under sabre-io?

For example @berndhose and @cameltoe have both done a great job here: ckulka/baikal-docker#309 and here: ckulka/baikal-docker#311 respectively to update the docker image but their work remains unmerged.

The most active fork seems to be https://github.com/aalmenar/baikal-docker Switching to it was a matter of changing the image over to hcr.io/aalmenar/baikal:0.11.1-nginx and everything continues to work fine so far.

Certainly its a good solution to use this image: ghcr.io/aalmenar/baikal:latest. It looks like they did a great job maintaining the docker image. It was more a case to make a fork within Baikal organisation to which the community can contribute. An "official" container of sorts.
