Mullvad DNS with Portmaster Not Working

This is the DNS i configured in portmaster.
dot://dns.quad9.net?ip=9.9.9.9&name=Quad9&blockedif=empty
dot://dns.quad9.net?ip=149.112.112.112&name=Quad9&blockedif=empty

I want to use this instead, https://mullvad.net/en/help/dns-over-https-and-dns-over-tls
reason being this #313 (comment)

Scroll to the bottom and enable the switch "Use custom DNS server".
Enter 127.0.0.1.
Exit the app.

So i set the dns within mullvad to 127.0.0.1 but i still want to use their dns server, to be clear i want to use this one:
all.dns.mullvad.net 194.242.2.9 2a07:e340::9

How do i replace dot://dns.quad9.net?ip=9.9.9.9&name=Quad9&blockedif=empty
dot://dns.quad9.net?ip=149.112.112.112&name=Quad9&blockedif=empty with the above mentioned dns from mullvad?

We are aware of all related tickets, including yours.
Unfortunately, we don’t always have the resources to begin investigating each case immediately. We prioritize improvements and fixes in Portmaster internally, and while I try to avoid giving a generic response like “we’ll look into it later,” in this case, that’s the most honest update I can provide.

Over the past few days, we’ve been exploring ways to improve native compatibility with Mullvad VPN. However, it appears that achieving this is not as straightforward as we initially hoped.

Regarding your specific case with the public Mullvad DNS server configuration:
I briefly tested all of their IPv4 DoH servers on a Windows 11 system using standard system settings (without Portmaster):

194.242.2.2 - https://dns.mullvad.net/dns-query
194.242.2.3 - https://adblock.dns.mullvad.net/dns-query
194.242.2.4 - https://base.dns.mullvad.net/dns-query
194.242.2.5 - https://extended.dns.mullvad.net/dns-query
194.242.2.6 - https://family.dns.mullvad.net/dns-query
194.242.2.9 - https://all.dns.mullvad.net/dns-query

Unfortunately, I was not able to get DNS resolution working with these endpoints.

As a first step, I recommend configuring the desired DNS setup directly in your system (without Portmaster), following Mullvad’s official guide:

This will help confirm whether the DNS configuration works correctly in your environment.

Note: Windows currently supports DNS over HTTPS (DoH) natively, but not DNS over TLS (DoT).

Update: I’ve tested your DoT configurations:

• dot://all.dns.mullvad.net?ip=194.242.2.9&name=Mullvad&blockedif=zeroip
• dot://dns.mullvad.net?ip=194.242.2.2&name=Mullvad&blockedif=zeroip

Both configurations are working.

However, one important note: not all domains appear to be resolvable through these servers. For example, https://dnsleaktest.com/
does not resolve for me for some reason.
