I know you havE this one one your list already:
Add a background service which uses BlueTooth/HTTP/WiFi to communicate with a desktop application to send queries from the desktop to the mobile device for inference

However, I would like to upvote for this also because is allows integrations with local Android apps like Tasker, Macrodroid or Automate.

@rons4 How should the API specification look like, for integration with Tasker and Macrodroid. In other words, what actions or data should SmolChat provide to the callee (desktop client) via the HTTP API?

Thanks, @shubham0204. It there was a simple OpenAI compatible API just for chat, Tasker or Macrodroid could use it by their normal HTTP Request functionality.

When the API is OpenAI compatible it makes the integration of other (external) tools possible as well. For example OpenClaw allows to connect to such API's.

I think the model and other parameters can be ignored and taken from the app's settings. The important part is the chat message.
