Hi there!

The db/start.sh script creates the database structure and loads the movies from the dataset into MySQL. The recommendations themselves however will not be available yet. To calculate the recommendations you need to click the 'Calculate recommendations' option under the Wrench icon on the top-right in the front-end (see this screenshot).

That should trigger PHP to execute MyMediaLite (which calculates the recommendations) and import the results into MySQL. See the documentation for more info.

I would suggest to start with only one simple algorithm and see if you can get it working with that. Also check the max_execution_time setting of your php.ini file to make sure the calculation process is allowed to execute for as long as needed.

Do let me know if the instructions are unclear, or something is broken. It has been a while since I worked with this, so it may need some updating.

I tried to set max_execution_time of my php.ini file,but still not working.

Well i guess the key problem for this is that the browser( or PHP) dosn‘t have the Root Execution Authority for linux. So when the calc_recs/recommendations.sql file is build, by click the option Calculate recommendations,then calc_recs/recommendations.sql file can't be excute.

Could you give me some suggestions about this?Thank you very much!
