Update and clean up readme

The readme file is very outdated and contains wrong information.

• update build, run and test info
• update/remove theoretical info

@noamnelke could you look at the theoretical parts of readme and see if it still makes any sense? I think it should be moved to the protocol docs and the readme should just link to that place. Wdyt?
