PCB design fault? Removing battery blocked by caps #282

I bought a Watchy, when it arrived I assembled it but immediately noticed one of the buttons wasn't working. It turned out, although carefully assembled, that the button had snapped whilst putting the enclosure together.

I figured I probably had spares and could replace the button myself. But I'd first remove the battery. Except, there's a set of caps right behind the battery connector so in trying to pry out, it wouldn't come. I eventually tried pulling with careful force (something that works on Switch speakers which have a very similar connector) only for the wires to come free leaving the connector still inside the port.

It's because there's a set of caps preventing the connector from releasing. I appreciate there's not much space to play with, but I think from a repairability perspective, it would be good if these could be relocated:
