Needs a basic working example

Firstly, thank you @kyoshino for all your work on this. A couple of questions:-

Is there a basic working example so that we can see which config is supported? I haven't been able to get Sveltia CMS to work at all so far (locally or on Netlify via GitHub backend) and I suspect it's due to some unsupported config that I've ported over from Netlify CMS.

Is there likely to be support for Git Gateway in the future? Requiring editors to have full read/write repo permissions is not going to be practical in a lot of cases.

@danurbanowicz Thanks for checking out Sveltia CMS! I’ve tested it with only a few of my clients using Netlify CMS, so I do expect various compatibility issues. Would you mind attaching your config file here (w/ any sensitive info redacted)? If not, I need to ask you to open the browser’s DevTools to check any errors logged there.

I’ll figure out how Git Gateway works! Maybe I can add support for it without extensive effort.

Sorry for taking a bit longer as I was attending SXSW this week. Just released v0.1.4 to solve the issues! I have tested the Netlify authentication flow with one of my client instances.

One annoying thing is, Eleventy’s dev server reloads the page every time a file is modified. It happens with Netlify CMS as well but in Sveltia CMS, you’ll be taken back to the sign-in page due to Chrome’s permission limitation. Not sure how to avoid the issue.

Anyway, please test-drive again to see how it works. Thanks!

You can disable live reload on the dev server by adding the following option to .eleventy.js:

  eleventyConfig.setServerOptions({
    liveReload: false
  });

Thanks, it works now! And yes, good catch with the liveReload; I suspected that was causing a problem somewhere.

I will continue experimenting and will let you know how I get on. Thanks again for your help.

I'm working on a simple Eleventy starter template for Sveltia CMS for deployment to Netlify, and while it still needs full documentation and some other work, it's almost finished.

Could this could be a good fit for putting on the Sveltia CMS starters list or using as a more-than-minimal example?
