Use libghostty

Would it make it easier to maintain and keep up-to-date if termux were to use libghostty?

The main issue with adopting libghostty for our purposes is that it'd be a complete rewrite into a completely different language.
I'm sure someone could do it, but we don't have anyone to maintain it to continue developing it.
Just swapping out the terminal emulator core for libghostty doesn't magically give a "better" or more maintainable terminal.

I understand that, but it would offload a lot of the work to the lib, and the lib maintainer, the termux maintainers could focus just on the Android UI part and not have to deal with things like OSC and other complex aspects of a terminal.

I think part of the issue of not having enough maintainers is the PR situation, loads of good PRs went stale because no one reviewed them or blocked because of some big rewrite that was happening behind closed doors but no one ever saw it.

Maybe making the app lighter by leveraging the lib could help.

Oh and I don't think using libghosty would mean switching to a different language, it can be used from Java.

It's possible to make an alternative frontend APK for Termux using any terminal libraries and then people who want to use it can use it with the same packages and package updates.
