The remote (rpcap) capture API functions are not documented.

The functions annotated PCAP_AVAILABLE_1_9_REMOTE do not have manual pages. These functions are:

• pcap_open
• pcap_createsrcstr
• pcap_parsesrcstr
• pcap_findalldevs_ex
• pcap_setsampling
• pcap_remoteact_accept
• pcap_remoteact_accept_ex
• pcap_remoteact_list
• pcap_remoteact_close
• pcap_remoteact_cleanup

I understand these were inherited from WinPcap, so the documentation there is probably applicable, as long as it still remains available.

That's a subset of this to-do list, would you like to contribute a few new man pages?

One problem is that, by default, remote capture support isn't compiled in, so the documentation might end up referring to unavailable features on most UN*Xes. At some point we might consider enabling it by default, but it does increase the attack surface - I audited the remote-capture client side, and cleaned up a bunch of code, so maybe we could consider enabling it by default at some point.
