Because of a number of small factors, melee combat is kinda not cool.
I dunno if we can easily fix something about this. The melee defense could be lowered (divide by 3 instead of divide by 2), but then things scaling up strength fast (as they tend to) would maybe outpace combat and agility scaling. I dunno, it's a mess.
