mkdir(): File exists

I keep getting this mkdir() error intermittently when saving files while running the npm run watch command. Sometimes I have to re-save the file 5+ times before it actually runs without errors.

Can't see a reason why as it doesn't always happen.

Hi @CicerBro,

The new version of Jigsaw uses Vite instead of Laravel Mix and Webpack. You can follow this Upgrade Guide to update your site to Jigsaw 1.8, which will hopefully solve the issue. Otherwise, let us know!

Upgraded but same issue intermittently. Also for some reason the localhost server does not run on port 8000.

I can manually run vendor/bin/jigsaw serve which works, but running npm run dev which should just run vite gives me this but connection refused when trying to access port 8000. I followed the upgrade guide.

I run the vendor/bin/jigsaw serve manually every time, expected that still to be the case like with Laravel Mix. I know that new Laravel projects have a compose run dev command, I haven't seen that in new Jigsaw projects, but could be me.

Yes, @CicerBro, you should run both npm run dev and jigsaw serve. The first runs Vite, the latter the PHP process that lets you preview your site on http://localhost:8000/. Make sure to include APP_URL=http://localhost:8000 in your .env file. That should make your site work as expected, let me know otherwise. Thanks!
