as described in the title. the theme causes steam to be sluggish and generally have bad performance when navigating the client compared to other themes.

Well there's only one theme on the millennium website called adwaita, and this is the github page for that theme.

Adwaita itself is a re-skin and there are dozens of themes or colors you can choose from within Adwaita.

Same here, on Fedora 42 (GNOME Wayland), installed with AdwSteamGtk (the millenium version doesn't respect the "control buttons layout" auto option).

Settings:

• color theme: adwaita
• no rounded corners: false
• controls style: adwaita
• control buttons layout: auto
• library sidebar: show
• hide library what's new shelf: false
• qr code login: show

For me, it only seems to be a problem on the Library page (I guess that's the main page which is affected by this theme). It's particularly bad when hovering over the tabs at the top, or resizing the window. I've got around 260 games in my library, for what that's worth.

Tried with default color theme and nord, both the same (nord may have been slightly worse, or maybe that was my imagination)

Mine does the empty hover menu on first load, with a black background (there seems to be a selector that makes it black before loading, since * > * { background-color: COLOR can show a different color). But the menus very rarely overlap like this.

I think I have found the reason. Check if v4 branch fixes this or if it at least makes it slightly better.

I just installed the v4 branch on my Fedora 43 system, I still have the same performance issues.
