Any clue why pause/play, next/prev buttons don't work now?

I've thrown the app in the trash bin and for some reason all of my keyboard keys for prev/next play/pause are not working anymore. Assuming they are related but maybe I am putting blame incorrectly. Thanks!

I just tested the pause button on YouTube and it still works for me, even with the app running.
