Dark Mode not Applied under Ubuntu 24.04

I am running Ubuntu 24.04 with gnome-flashback (if that matters) with dark mode enabled. I see dark mode being applied to the screenshots here on github, but my version (15.8.0 installed from the repo) is not applying the dark mode set in Tweaks. Is there any way I can effect that?
