Gmail in panel integration

Copy Streak (.com) with how they integrate right into GMail.
It enables teams to interact with the CRM without having to go to another app.

To start just being able create contacts and companies in the CRM and see the information on them within GMail would be helpful

@charlesfayal it's not possible to do it as Twenty aims to be generic enough to integrate with other messaging providers, soon it'll be possible to see all messages in one place instead of checking specific record in order to access them as it's done now

It'd also be unfair compared to other providers like Microsoft Outlook who don't allow for such level of integration

This is a ridiculous reply.

About 90% of startups use Gmail. Gmail continues to take over more and more of the share of the Enterprise market as well. You’re not focusing on your customer and where they are.

Unfair to Microsoft is ridiculous statement. If Microsoft wants, they can build a way to integrate. This is one of the reasons that companies are moving away from Microsoft suites.

Forcing customers to use an outside application when it’s possible to use an application they are using is an awful design decision.

According to Data Landbase, 3,6 million companies are using Google (https://data.landbase.com/technology/gmail/) and 3,9 million companies are using Microsoft (https://data.landbase.com/technology/microsoft-365/)

While Streak and Twenty are both CRMs (which is already a highly competitive market), they are focusing on different niches within the market and their customers and they have different priorities. Streak focuses on customers using Gmail while Twenty focuses on customers who wants to move out of other CRMs or are looking for cheaper/open-source and highly customizable alternative.

It's not like one product must fit all use cases, that's why there are some CRMs out there.

Also, Twenty has more important things to implement first such as notification system, email attachments, surfacing system objects like messages, files and calendar events to allow users see them in one place instead of scattered across different related records or improving developer and self-hosting upgrade experience. Maybe it'll be implemented at some point but it's not a high priority by any means for time being.
