Why is Bruno trying to install debian packages on close?

Everytime I close Bruno, I get this dialog:

Doesn't seem right that the application is trying to install a debian package as I close it.
Doubly so since it's not running on a debian linux at all.

@birkirb Thanks for raising this discussion. I believe this is happening because we have the auto-update feature enabled. When you try to close the application, it starts downloading the new version since we are using app.on('quit') from the Electron Builder auto-updater.

If you want to update the app, please provide administrator privileges to install the downloaded update, or uncheck/disable the auto-update feature.

To confirm this behavior, could you please authenticate in the input box as shown in the screenshot and then restart the app to verify whether it has been updated? If you do not authenticate, you will remain on the older version.

The problem is that I'm running this on an Arch Linux system. Arch community often convert deb packages into the Arch User Repository, but apt-get is not installed and hence this command will never work. If the user installed the package, you should leave the updates to the package manager.

I agree with your point: if the app is installed from the Arch community, it should not auto-update via the Electron updater. To fix this, could you please disable the 'Check for Updates' button shown in the screenshot?

I am using version 3.1.3 of Bruno from a .deb package via the http://debian.usebruno.com/ repository.

As I have the same problem, after reading your comment, I tested your modification in the settings.

When I modify the settings, Bruno Desktop ignores them and still asks me to authenticate.

However, the second time, the change is taken into consideration and no attempt is made to update the client, nor is there any elevation of privileges.

The same applies in the other way, when I reactivate the automatic update function, it is not taken into consideration immediately, but only when the client is run another time.
