I cannot explain why but it does not seem to install the package correctly. There is no folder for sklearnex in my site-packages after install.

Hi, thank you for submitting an issue. Was there previously a scikit-learn-intelex installation in this environment? And are you using any sort of python or conda virtual environment?

Additionally - if you try to pip install packaging along with scikit-learn-intelex, does it help?

No this is a clean install of windows bascially.
In the first case I did not bother with a venv, since this packages and sklearn are pretty much used on all my projects.

This problem occurs on the global env.
I created a venv and it installed perfectly fine, I can see the folder correctly in site-packages.

On global, packaging is already installed.

Thanks for the bug report. A couple questions here:

• You mention that you do not see the folder in your site packages, and the screenshot shows the executable form being unavailable, but does it recognize the name sklearnex when importing (e.g. python c "import sklearnex")? If so, it could be that you have some packages installed as administrator and some as user, in which case calling python.exe might look at multiple site-packages folders.
• I see this is just pip install scikit-learn-intelex. Do you by any chance have the Intel pip index added by default to your pip config? If so, perhaps you could try explicitly passing --index-url https://pypi.org/simple and see if it makes a difference.
• Do you perhaps see something suspicious if you try verbose mode? e.g. pip install --verbose --force-reinstall scikit-learn-intelex==2025.10.1

On further investigation, I see that there is indeed something wrong with our current windows wheels for 2025.10.1. We'll be looking into fixing it.

In the meantime, it should be possible to use an older version, together with older versions of numpy and scikit-learn:

pip install scikit-learn-intelex==2025.9.0 scikit-learn==1.7.2 numpy==2.3.5

Actually, on a deeper look, I see that our Python wheels have a different structure than other packages, and this has been going on for several versions. But they still work for me under a default Python installation from python.org and from miniforge.

Could you provide some details here:

• How did you install Python? e.g. from a python.org installer or some other way.
• What is the path for the site-packages folder you showed?
