Description
Let's make a first pass at a customer-facing vx-iso.
Let's constrain it to just run in plain Debian, not an app. If it's possible to play with non-graphical vs. graphical Debian, we may do that. But no app.
Let's also aim to allow it to work without the use of a keyboard.
Target UX Suggestion:
- Boot to USB (assume we provide customer instructions for this)
- Absolutely minimal logging as we load up
- Once loaded, show on screen that we're about to install and have a countdown
- If the copy configuration checks don't pass (most likely customer use case here is they use the wrong USB for the wrong type of machine), bail and show a message accordingly
- Write image with loading indicator
- Once finished, compute hash, display hash, instruct user to remove USB to restart into new software
