[FEATURE] write functions for data anlysis #22

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
Check TODO.md for endpoints we can write functions for. Write only those that would be relevant for institutional research / student analytics tasks. So no creating/deleting but get/list functions that tell us something that would help understand student progress.

Functions follow the style of the other functions in package. Update todo.md and pkgdown yml file.
