Segmentation fault error

OS: Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS

Description

I was able to follow all instructions and flash a modified BIOS. I'm getting stuck at using ReBarState on Ubuntu. When trying to write a variable I get a "Segmentation fault" error. Is this a sign of my wrong doing and I need to try the MMInfo method or is it a fault with ReBarState?

ReBarState variable doesn't exist / Disabled. Enter a value to create it

Verify that 4G Decoding is enabled and CSM is disabled otherwise system will not POST with GPU. If your ReBarState value keeps getting reset then check your system time.

It is recommended to first try smaller sizes above 256MB in case BIOS doesn't support large BARs.

It is an issue with ReBarState writing to efivars not anything else.

Maybe your distro mounts efivars somewhere else than the hardcoded location ? Or you are not booted in UEFI mode

Got it, the CSM setting was hidden under an "Other OS" selection, which I thought was since it was disappearing that it was disabled, but it wasn't. I had to select the OS as Windows 8/10 and disable CSM there for it to remain. That fixed the segmentation fault error.
