Hardware: Tools: What am I doing wrong, open BIOS file X99DeEX.F5c into UEFITool NE, search for "4G Decod" and get 2 hit's. Both land me at the same PE32 image. Intel image -> BIOS region -> 8C8CE578-8A3D-4F1C-9935-896185C32DD3 -> 899407D7-99FE-43D8-9A21-79EC328CAC21 -> EE4E5898-3914-4259-9D6E-DC7BD79403CF -> PE32 image section. Extract body and save. I have my 4GDecodBody.efi (Example shows a .bin?) IFRExtractor-RS pass it 4GDecodBody.efi, gives me my 4GDecodBody.efi.0.0.en-US.uefi.ifr.txt Open it up in Notepadd++ and not a single hit on even 4G, never mind 4G Decod or Above 4G. Even went so far as opening the .efi file in HxD and it can't find the string "4G Decod", or again even 4G. Anything obvious I'm doing incorrectly? It has to be me, just can't see what I'm doing wrong. UEFITools sees it, I've got to assume it's there. Worst part is, I technically shouldn't be having to do this :) Windows 8/10 Features: 8/10 and CSM Disabled. Thanks all, cheers! |

If anyone stumbles on this thread, I have a verified fully functional "Above 4G Decode" Enabled BIOS for this Gigabyte X99 Designare EX. I'd have to assume they made it just for me, it's dated a day before I received it from Gigabyte support. F5e from 1/21/2026. I'm sure I'd be breaking some Term of Service if I posted the file on GitHub. Pretty amazing that someone was kind enough to spend the time to support nearly 11 year old Motherboard. Cheers all! |

@Koekieezz
@xCuri0
If xCuri0 chimes in and says I'm good not breaking Microsoft's ToS, I'll do it. In the meantime hit me up on [Win-Raid Forum] handle @TheBelcherMan. Just PM me.
Been busy, I've got xCrui0's ReBarUEFI working. Reminds me, need to add it to the list of known working boards. Last night tested QFlash mod with offset D1361F set to 02, works like a champ. No more "Invalid BIOS image" from QFlash. At least the hot air rework station and SPI programmer can take a short respite.
Just getting past that Above 4G Decoding set me free.
Thanks to all the very brilliant folks that devoted countless hours, back in the day. Your work lives on 11 years later.
