695 public health establishments across Algeria — the Ministry of Health network

A new GeoAlgeria dataset shipped in v1.5.0.

695 public health establishments across the 58 wilayas with health directorates, from the Ministry of Health (MoH) registry (sante.gov.dz): 270 EPH (public hospitals), 292 EPSP (proximity-health establishments), 108 EHS (specialized hospitals), 20 CHU (university hospitals) and 5 other public hospitals. Bilingual French/Arabic (563 with both names), each with its official type, sector, and commune / wilaya linkage.

The MoH publishes no coordinates, so geography is layered on and labelled honestly: 600 of 695 are geocoded — 121 to a precise OpenStreetMap point, 3 to a Wikidata point, the rest to their commune centroid — with source and geo_precision on every record, so you always know where a coordinate came from.

Ships JSON, CSV, GeoJSON and TypeScript types, and every record joins the rest of GeoAlgeria on one wilaya_code. Names, type and wilaya are official; commune linkage is a nearest-centroid join (wilaya exact, commune best-effort) and coordinates are best-effort — verify against the source for authoritative, real-time information.

Private clinics are planned as a follow-up.
