vim mode, CTRL-W and JetBrains base_keymap

I like vim mode a lot, but i also like Intellij's CTRL-(shift)-W a lot (expand-shrink selection).

When using the base_keymap of JetBrains, the default ctrl-w mapping does not work unless I disable vim mode.

I had to add this in keymap.json in order to make it work

So, my question is I guess, why do i need to add the mapping explicitly in keymap.json for it to work ?

This is because of priority

custom > vim > default
