Helix separate clipboard apart from system

When using Helix from the terminal, it has its own clipboard for copying, pasting, and etc. This is nice because the system clipboard is still accessible with <SPACE> prefix, and I do not accidentally paste my edits into my other applications for example.

Have you tried setting the vim setting use_system_clipboard to never? It sounds like what you're looking for. With this the * register still works.
