Allow choosing conda | mamba | micromamba

Description

Conda is a widely used package manager for Python, but it's known to be relatively slow. Fortunately, micromamba serves as a drop-in replacement offering much faster performance.

I encountered an issue where an AI agent was invoking git, but for some reason, this triggered conda to activate the base environment beforehand. Running the following command reproduces the behavior:

This unexpectedly activates the base environment via conda. I don't see the reason to use conda directly and if it is needed allow for users to set different backends such as mambaor micromamba -- which I use.
