Changes made to the Chatbox feature in
v2.5.6introduced a potential memory leak in some cases. This memory leak is not dangerous to your system or Steam account; it is simply an issue caused by the chat feature not correctly cleaning up stored data/states when it was supposed to, leading to data accumulating indefinitely, causing high system resource usage, laggy UI, unresponsiveness, and sometimes even crashes.
I have released
v2.5.11, which resolves this issue. For users on the
installerversion of SGIThis update should be automatically installed without needing to be manually updated. But it is worth double-checking to make sure you are updated to the latest release. The current app version is displayed in the bottom-left of the "Settings" page.
For users on the
portableversion of SGIIf you are currently on a version of SGI between
2.5.6and2.5.10, it is recommended that you update to the latest version to avoid any issues.I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this issue.
