Problem: The typical hosting platform for self-hosted portals is static sources like CDN or Static Web Apps or Blob Storage. However, such platforms don't support advanced role-based visibility filtering like implemented in managed version of the portal. Hence, the self-hosted portal uses very basic show/hide logic for elements for authenticated/anonymous users only to avoid UI client errors related to accessing restricted resources.
