I've used a custom function by Steve_SSH to make the json merge work on levels beyond the first one, with just a couple tweeks to your CFs.
I went on to make sure that the result passes all the test from your demo file, and created new tests to make sure of the behavior for situations where the json is nested.
Basically, for someone who is not nesting things, nothing should change, but this revision adds support for nested json (supporting inheritance, eval, sum, max).
I shied away from adding the new custom function to your existing utility function.
