Slot selection is a legacy feature no longer used that causes ambiguity for the current flow. More importantly, it can result in faulty releases so it makes sense to remove it before introducing trustee and AMD support in integritee.
P.S. PLAN.md document is deteled as it was extremely stale, containing info that conflicts with the current state of the repo, it had no additional info worth salvaging.
