The SCons build doesn't do this, so neither should CMake.
Excpetions are already handled by DISABLE_EXCEPTIONS option.

And it seems to be a mistake too.

OMG how is this still there...? must be some weirdness with rebasing or something. I thought I removed it already.
If I had the ability to approve I would.
