This looks similair to ClasspathFilters.isNotPackageInfo and isNotModuleInfo. If you add a string based variant and call those before .map(DefaultClasspathScanner::determineSimpleClassName) we have that logic in one place.

var charset = Charset.defaultCharset();
var writer = new PrintWriter(System.out, true, charset);
var printer = new TreePrintingListener(writer, ColorPalette.DEFAULT, Theme.valueOf(charset));

This doesn't follow the NO_COLOR environment variable.

And will this look good on Windows? (I haven't used it in ages, I have no clue if it supports ANSI yet)
