(The instructions below apply to both Windows 10 and 11.)
Download our precompiled Zip file.
Extract it to anywhere you like, as shown below:
Extracting the Zip file will take a few minutes, as shown below:
Once the Zip file has been extracted, you will see the contents below. Double-click on the "IoT Inspector" shortcut icon, as shown below. Do not move the "IoT Inspector" shortcut icon elsewhere.
You will likely see a warning. Click "Open". If you don't trust us, you can inspect the shortcut's properties yourself. You will see that it simply runs a Python script.
Once you run the "IoT Inspector" shortcut, the installation process will start automatically, as shown below. You just sit and wait.
If you are asked to install Npcap, just proceed with the default configurations:
The screen below will appear frozen for a few minutes, as we are installing all the necessary Python packages. Be patient.
Once installation is successful, a browser window will open, as shown below:
There might be a warning (below). Click "Allow Access".
You're now free to use IoT Inspector!
Just double-click on the same "IoT Inspector" shortcut icon, and you're good to go. Remember: Do not move the icon to somewhere else. If you'd like to move, move the entire "IoT-Inspector-Package" folder.
When you run IoT Inspector for the first time, you might see a screen like below -- lots of unknown devices. Just wait for a few minutes as IoT Inspector captures more data from your network:

Click the "Quit IoT Inspector" button on the webpage, or simply close this terminal window:
