(The instructions below apply to both Windows 10 and 11.)

Download our precompiled Zip file.

Once the Zip file has been extracted, you will see the contents below. Double-click on the "IoT Inspector" shortcut icon, as shown below. Do not move the "IoT Inspector" shortcut icon elsewhere.

You will likely see a warning. Click "Open". If you don't trust us, you can inspect the shortcut's properties yourself. You will see that it simply runs a Python script.

Once you run the "IoT Inspector" shortcut, the installation process will start automatically, as shown below. You just sit and wait.

The screen below will appear frozen for a few minutes, as we are installing all the necessary Python packages. Be patient.

Running IoT Inspector

Just double-click on the same "IoT Inspector" shortcut icon, and you're good to go. Remember: Do not move the icon to somewhere else. If you'd like to move, move the entire "IoT-Inspector-Package" folder.

When you run IoT Inspector for the first time, you might see a screen like below -- lots of unknown devices. Just wait for a few minutes as IoT Inspector captures more data from your network:

For example, this is the screen for my Amazon Echo:

I can check what countries my Amazon Echo communicates with:
