YouTubeTLDR for Raycast

Quickly summarize and translate YouTube videos directly from Raycast.
Get the TL;DR of any YouTube video with AI-powered analysis and multi-language support.

Requirements

  • yt-dlp (for downloading YouTube videos)
  • ffmpeg (for audio processing)
  • OpenAI API key

Setup

  1. Install dependencies:

    brew install yt-dlp ffmpeg
    npm install
  2. Configure in Raycast:

    • OpenAI API Key: Your OpenAI API key
    • OpenAI Model: Select the GPT model (default: GPT-4o-mini)
    • Default Language: Target language for translation
    • Output Directory: Where to save summaries (default: ~/Downloads)
    • Segment Length: Audio splitting unit (default: 30 seconds)

Usage

  1. Open Raycast and run the YouTube TL;DR command.
  2. Enter a YouTube video URL.
  3. Wait for AI processing to complete.
  4. Find the summary in your configured output directory (default: ~/Downloads).
