Enhancement: Add a Clear Option to the Currency Filter

Description

Currently, users can switch between the available currencies using the Currency filter. However, unlike other filters (E.g.: RAG status) in the application, the Currency filter does not provide an explicit option to reset the selected currency.

To improve usability and maintain consistency with other filters, introduce a dedicated Clear option for the Currency filter. Selecting this option should reset the filter and restore the default project currency.

Current Behaviour

• Users can switch between the available currencies.
• The Currency filter does not provide an explicit Clear option.
• Users must rely on the existing behaviour to revert to the default currency, which is not intuitive.

Expected Behaviour

• The Currency filter should include a dedicated Clear option.
• Selecting Clear should remove the selected currency filter and restore the default project currency.
• The filter should behave consistently with other filters that provide a reset/clear option.

Acceptance Criteria

• A Clear option is available within the Currency filter.
• Clicking Clear resets the selected currency and restores the default project currency.
• The currency values displayed across the application are refreshed based on the default project currency.
• Users can continue switching between available currencies after clearing the filter.

Testing Instructions

• Go to the Projects page
• Select any currency
• Observe the "x" icon to appear
• click the icon to clear the selected currency, and observe the currencies to be set as default

I have verified on staging that the currency filter now has a clear button in the field itself.

Note

To clear the filter, we already have a cross button on the applied filter. We can reuse that instead of adding another clear option inside the field.
If the project currency was not set in the backend, items without a currency will default to the "₹" symbol. #1875 (comment)

Clear option (X) working fine.
However, when there is no currency selected, all the values are shown in $ and ₹

Hi @nitun, when no currency is selected, the system displays the values in the default currency set under ERPNext → Projects → Costing & Billing.
