Goal

Claim the cgr name on PyPI so users can pip install cgr as a convenience alias for code-graph-rag.

Current state

• The cgr PyPI package (v0.0.2, uploaded 2020-08-11) is a placeholder: description is "this is a description", no real code
• Owner: GitHub user zk4, email liuzq7@gmail.com
• Source repo: https://github.com/zk4/cg ("Duplicate your work space!", 1 star, 0 forks)
• Downloads: ~33/month (likely mirrors)

Plan once name is claimed

1. Publish cgr as a thin metapackage that depends on code-graph-rag
2. Keep code-graph-rag as the main package (all code, SEO, discoverability)
3. Both pip install cgr and pip install code-graph-rag will work

The 6-week owner-response window has lapsed with no response:

Publish cgr as a thin metapackage that depends on code-graph-rag, so both pip install cgr and pip install code-graph-rag work.

No movement on the PyPI side since filing on 2026-06-28: pypi/support#11274 has only the automated filing acknowledgement ("295 other open PEP 541 issues ahead of this one"; PyPI support is effectively one staffer plus volunteers). No moderator has actioned it and nothing is required from us. Owner-contact threads remain silent (zk4/coge#1: still 0 comments; email: no reply).

Nothing to do but wait on moderation. Will update when a moderator responds or the name is freed.
