Smart India Hackathon 2026 — Internal Hackathon Evaluation & Judge Analytics Engine

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham | Institution's Innovation Council (IIC)

SIH 2026 Institution IIC Tech Stack License

📌 Overview

JudgeIQ is an executive-grade, client-side evaluation analytics and monitoring portal developed for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026 internal hackathon rounds at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

The portal ingests complex, multi-day judge evaluation logs, dynamically normalizes time slots across hardware and software tracks, calculates individual and departmental workload intensities, and renders high-density interactive dashboards with real-time filtering, day/night thematic contrast, and context-aware CSV exports.

🚀 Key Modules & Capabilities

1. 📊 Executive Overview Dashboard

  • Real-Time KPI Cards: Immediate visibility into unique judge counts, cumulative evaluated hours, overall mean hours per judge, and hardware vs. software track distributions.
  • Track Distribution Donut Chart: High-level comparison of total evaluation volume allocated to Physical/Hardware prototypes vs. Software/Cloud/AI solutions.
  • Workload Intensity Bar Chart: Comparative analysis of mean hours per judge across Hardware, Software, and Panel-wide benchmarks.
  • Day-Wise Evaluation Trendline: Daily activity curve tracing evaluation volume and faculty turnout across all hackathon days (3rd September to 9th September).
  • Department Workload Stacked Bar Chart: Horizontal stacked breakdown visualizing hardware and software contribution across each participating department and school.

2. 🛡️ IIC Members Analytics

  • Innovation Council Evaluation Benchmarks: Dedicated tracking of Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) member faculties against standard panel judges.
  • Comparative Metrics: Total IIC hours, mean hours per IIC faculty, and percentage of panel representation.
  • IIC vs. Non-IIC Workload Bar Chart: Clear visualization comparing workload density between IIC members, non-IIC members, and the overall panel average.
  • IIC Faculty Directory: Grid cards highlighting key roles, designations (e.g., Convener-IIC, SPOC SIH-2026), evaluated tracks, parsed clock duration, and one-click schedule inspection.

3. ⚙️ Dual-Track Analytics (Hardware & Software)

  • Hardware Track: Tailored analytics for physical prototypes, embedded systems, robotics, and hardware evaluations.
  • Software Track: Metrics for web/mobile platforms, machine learning models, cloud systems, and algorithmic solutions.
  • Cross-Track Evaluation Visibility: Identifies interdisciplinary judges contributing to both hardware and software tracks.

4. 🏢 Department Analytics & Faculty Inspector

  • Department Performance Cards: Aggregated cards displaying total assigned faculties, total hours evaluated, mean hours per faculty, and a hardware vs. software ratio progress bar.
  • Interactive Department Inspector: Clicking any department card opens a detailed modal listing all assigned faculty members sorted in ascending order by Serial Number (S.No), complete with daily parsed schedules and copyable plain-text reports.
  • Direct Directory Linking: Jump directly from any department card into a pre-filtered master table view with a single click.

5. 🗓️ Day-by-Day Schedule Matrix

  • Date Switcher: Fast navigation across evaluation dates (3rd Sep – 9th Sep) with dynamic volume indicators.
  • Daily Executive Summary: Snapshot of active faculties, session counts, and hardware vs. software workload for the chosen date.
  • Session Cards: Comprehensive breakdown of judge names, department affiliations, scheduled time slots, and calculated clock durations.

6. 👥 Master Judges Directory & Multi-Facet Filtering

  • Full-Text Live Search: Instant filtering by judge name or department name.
  • Multi-Filter Dropdowns: Filter concurrently by Track (All, Hardware, Software), Department, and IIC Membership (All, IIC Members Only, Standard Judges Only).
  • Interactive Sorting: Clickable column headers supporting bidirectional sorting (ascending/descending) on S.No, Judge Name, Department, Total Hours, and Days Active.
  • Department Spotlight Banner: When filtering by a specific department, an informative spotlight banner provides aggregated statistics, quick copy actions, and filtered exports.

7. 📤 Dynamic Context-Aware CSV Exporter

The portal features an intelligent CSV export engine that detects the user's active view and exports precisely tailored reports with Excel-compatible UTF-8 Byte Order Mark (\uFEFF):

  • Department View Active: Generates SIH_2026_Judges_<DeptName>_Department_Report.csv.
  • Schedule Tab Active: Generates SIH_2026_Judges_Schedule_<Date>_Report.csv.
  • IIC Tab Active: Generates SIH_2026_IIC_Member_Judges_Report.csv.
  • Filtered Directory Active: Generates SIH_2026_Judges_Filtered_Report.csv.
  • Default Master View: Generates SIH_2026_Master_Judges_Analytics_Report.csv.

8. 🌓 Full-Page Day/Night Theme System

  • High-contrast, accessibility-tested dark mode and light mode.
  • Adapts glassmorphism cards, interactive tables, charts, inputs, badges, and modals dynamically with seamless transitions.

🧠 Dynamic Time Slot Calculation Engine

In hackathon evaluation rosters, time slots are frequently recorded as free-form strings spanning multiple intervals within a single day, for example:

10:40-12:00 PM 1:30-3:30 PM

JudgeIQ features a built-in regular expression and parsing engine in app.js (parseTimeSlotString & convertTimeToMinutes):

  1. Regex Extraction: Parses discrete intervals using /(\d{1,2}:\d{2})\s*-\s*(\d{1,2}:\d{2})\s*(AM|PM)?/gi.
  2. Meridiem Resolution: Inherits global meridiem indicators (AM/PM) across compound slot strings.
  3. 12-Hour to 24-Hour Normalization: Automatically handles afternoon transitions (e.g., converting 1:30 to 13:30).
  4. Minute-Level Precision: Computes exact duration minutes for every interval: $$\text{Duration} = \text{End Minutes} - \text{Start Minutes}$$
  5. Formatted Output: Produces human-readable clock durations (e.g., 3h 20m) alongside decimal hour equivalents for accurate analytical aggregation.

🏗️ Technical Architecture

JudgeIQ is intentionally engineered with a zero-build, zero-dependency client-side architecture. It requires no Node.js compilation, bundlers, or server-side runtimes, making it completely portable, ultra-fast, and trivially deployable on GitHub Pages or any static file host.
