TetraYggdrasil Nexus

Experimental Post-Quantum Mesh Networking & ZK Authentication (Concept Prototype)

Author: Michael Tass MacDonald Repository: https://github.com/Abraxas618/TetraYggdrasil_Nexus Status: Non-Functional Research Prototype

  1. Overview

TetraYggdrasil Nexus is a conceptual exploration into post-quantum communication, decentralized identity, and mesh-based peer-to-peer networking. The project combines several research ideas:

post-quantum cryptography,

zero-knowledge authentication,

WASM-accelerated node communication,

and topology-inspired overlay networks.

The repository is not a production system and should be viewed as an early-stage experimental framework for testing architectural approaches.

No component in this prototype provides real security or reliable networking functionality.

  1. Conceptual Features (Non-Functional)

The following items represent design goals for future experimentation rather than supported features:

Post-Quantum Algorithms (Conceptual Only) Kyber, Dilithium, Falcon, and other PQC candidates as placeholders.

Yggdrasil-Inspired Overlay Topology A tree-like or fractal-like conceptual mesh routing model.

Recursive Hash/Key Structures (Prototype) Demonstrates ideas around iterative or geometric hashing.

Zero-Knowledge Authentication (Simulated) zk-STARK-style identity placeholders to explore potential system flow.

WASM-Accelerated P2P Messages (Experimental) Rust-to-WASM bridge sketches, not fully implemented.

Dashboard UI (Front-End Concept) A basic TypeScript/React interface illustrating how a future mesh could be visualized.

None of these components implement secure cryptography or verified protocols.

  1. Architecture (Prototype Only)

Languages: TypeScript, Rust (WASM), minimal React front-end

Structure:

src/ components/ backend/ public/

Cryptography: Conceptual AES/PQC placeholders

Messaging: Proposed P2P bridge in Rust (not finalized)

Identity System: Prototype entropy-based DID experiment

Build Tools: Standard Node.js development environment

This repository mainly serves as a design sketch and conceptual foundation for future research.

  1. Simulated Performance (Not Real Measurements)

The performance table below represents hypothetical metrics used to model latency characteristics for future designs. These values are illustrative only.

Environment Avg Latency Max Load TPS Bandwidth

Earth (Fiber) ~15 ms 10k nodes 994/s 499 MB/s Lunar Model ~1.3 s Stable 930/s 488 MB/s Deep-Space Model ~84 s Stable 910/s 470 MB/s

These are simulated and not based on real deployments.

  1. Quick Start (For UI Exploration Only)

npm install npm run dev

Then open:

http://localhost:5173

This launches only the front-end demonstration interface. It does not provide functional cryptography, mesh networking, or secure communication.

  1. Intended Research Applications

TetraYggdrasil Nexus is positioned as an idea laboratory, useful for:

studying PQC-oriented identity models,

experimenting with mesh-routing architectures,

prototyping ZK-based authentication workflows,

evaluating WASM-accelerated crypto code,

visualizing conceptual P2P topologies.

The system is not tested, validated, or ready for any operational use.

This repository uses the MIT License. The contents are provided as-is, without warranty, for educational and research purposes only.

  1. Archival & Provenance

A version of this prototype has been mirrored via:

Zenodo DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.15207676

OpenTimestamps (Experimental) .ots files included in the repository provide a reproducible timestamp for archival versions.

IPFS Mirrors (Optional) Provided only for durability of archived snapshots.

These archival copies are for reproducibility and long-term referencing of the prototype state.

  1. Project Context

TetraYggdrasil Nexus forms one conceptual component of the broader research ecosystem including:

TetraCodex (PQC + ZK identity research),

TetraCrypt-PQC-Nexus (geometric cryptography concepts),

TetraCrypt_Yggdrasil_Unified (combined mesh + authentication prototype),

TetraNexus (trust-layer concept design),

TetraVote (experimental ZK voting model).

All projects are non-functional prototypes intended for experimentation.

  1. Important Notes

No security guarantees.

No functional cryptography.

No validated mesh network.

No operational PQC.

Not suitable for sensitive or real-world use.

Strictly a research and design exploration.
