For the time being, we created wicked-saml2-js which includes this PR. The npm package is wicked-saml2-js. Thanks a bunch! Can verify that it's working perfectly against an openAM based identity provider. As soon as this PR is merged, we will probably remove our package, but for now, it remains.

I'll have to consider switching, then I wouldn't need to rely on a setTimeout to guess if single signon failed.
