This repository contains material and scripts necessary to produce the figures in the publication "Global and Regional Marine Ecosystem Model Climate Change Projections Reveal Key Uncertainties" led by Tyler Eddy. This article was published in Earth's Future in 2025 and it is available here.
TCB outputs used in this project were produced by participating FishMIP global
models and are publicly available via the ISIMIP data portal
under Output Data > Fisheries & Marine Ecosystems (global) sector >
ISIMIP3b. Outputs are also available in the German Climate Computation
Center (DKRZ) server. Researchers with access to the DKRZ server can use
the Python scripts provided in this repository inside the CMIP5 and CMIP6
folder under scripts to extract data as yearly weighted means per region of
interest. However, we are also including the summarised datasets used in our
analyses under the data folder of this repository.
Boundaries for all FishMIP regional models are available as a compressed folder
via the FishMIP THREDDS server.
We used these boundaries to create masks to extract data within each region of
interest from global FishMIP models. Note that there are three masks available,
this is because some FishMIP models use a different grid. The models that
differ are: DBPM and ZOOMSS forced by IPSL (use FishMIP_regional_mask_1deg_DBPM.nc)
and DBEM (use FishMIP_regional_mask_05deg.nc). All other models use the
FishMIP_regiona_mask_1deg.nc.
All masks contain weights based on the area of grid cells and are included in
under the outputs folder of this repository. The masks contain indexes
identifying each regional model, you can refer to the FishMIP_regions_keys.csv
under the same folder to find the name of each region.
