The Reality

After Beta 3 was released, I updated the build using the updater and played for about 6 hours. The next day, when I opened my save, I was right where I was after the update. I dug through the files and noticed the problem: almost all SU copies contain the same level.dat and similar files, created at 1:43 PM on September 7th. The same file remains in the main save dir. I think my progress was probably cleared along with my RAM. The issue might be specific to my PC. There are almost no mentions of this issue, so it's a bit embarrassing to write about it, considering I'm not very familiar with saving progress in this build.

Your Proposal

Let me know if anyone has encountered a similar problem. Is there a backup file where my progress could have been saved?

Final Checklist

  • I can reproduce this problem consistently by follow the exact steps I described above, or this does not need reproducing, e.g. recipe loophole.
  • I have asked other people and they confirm they also have this problem by follow the exact steps I described above, or this does not need reproducing, e.g. recipe loophole.
